When you strip away all of the rhetoric, confusion, politics and inadequate curriculum, the Common Core State Standards are a thing of beauty. For the first time we have a set of standards that describes what next generation teaching and learning looks like and sounds like. This workshop will do a quick dive into the real opportunity in the Common Core then engage in a simple activity that unlocks all eight Standards for Mathematical Practice, five of the ELA Capacities, six of the Science & Engineering Practices and a bunch of Anchor Standards for Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking.
