Student-Driven Critique in Any Classroom

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Everyday, my fourth grade students share drafts of their work with each other in order to make improvements. I also regularly solicit feedback from them to improve my instruction and schedule. In order to make the exercise positive and productive, we keep three simple rules, follow a strict protocol, and rely on some helpful sentence frames. Please join me for a hands-on tutorial on how to start using critique in your classroom.

Learning Targets

  • I can identify rationale, rules, and sentence frames for implementing critique.

  • I can apply critique rules and sentence frames to improve my own drawing.

  • I can apply critique rules and sentence frames to improve my partners’ drawing.
